Physical education for lifelong fitness and health is a very powerful tool as it teaches you how to get in shape, keep your body healthy, develop confidence and self-esteem and much more. Although physical education may seem like something that's not really meant for people with disabilities, it's actually been proven to have so many positive effects on those who were previously struggling with health conditions. Even though the physical education curriculum is extremely broad, it is most often overlooked because it has more often been thought about as an activity only intended for athletes. However, through extensive research, statistics are showing how this can be just another way that you can become active and healthy! With the growing popularity of exercise videos online or even having friends join up with other like-minded individuals in your local gym, there are more and more options now available for fitness. Increased flexibility & mobility

There’s nothing quite as relaxing as simply getting out of bed in the morning. The lack of mobility in your body, however, can cause issues with balance or agility throughout the day. Since the majority of muscles in your body are located on the outside of your body, mobility and flexibility is vital if you have to perform other activities while keeping your hands, neck and back straight. For example, if you're doing pushups, lift your body from one position to the next—and your feet do the rest of the work! Your body begins to bend from side to side as you pull yourself up and down on the floor, causing you to stretch out and reduce mobility, which means that you'll be able to do most tasks without having to rely on gravity at all. This effect, coupled with increased movement and stability, is a major win when becoming fit and strong.

Increased muscle strength & tone

Many people will agree that being able to do easy movement like throwing the ball into a basket is the best part of physical education, but when it comes to improving muscle strength and tone, few other opportunities compare as closely. One study in 2012 found that men who took three months of vigorous aerobic training experienced significantly larger gains in their bench press strength than they did with two weeks of moderate aerobic training alone (Hanson et al., 2012). Another study involving 56 young women aged 13–25 found that those taking 30 minutes of intense non-aerobic exercises per week experienced significant increases in upper arm circumference, elbow flexion, and grip strength (Kim, 2014). These are just a few examples of how physical education can help your muscle size increase. Plus, the amount of time you spend in the classroom correlates to your muscle size and, therefore, also improves your overall strength and strength.

Better mental health

Mental illness is a big thing these days, and there are actually several studies that show how physical education can contribute to better psychological health. A 2018 study published in Psychology Today investigated the link between physical education (PA) and well-being and found it to be statistically significant in reducing anxiety and depression, as well as increasing life satisfaction (Ciulla et al., 2017). Other recent studies in 2015 and 2014 published in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine also showed that children who saw more hours of PA had fewer behavioral problems and increased grades than those who were exposed to less (Lemminger, Biddle & Hiltz, 2012). Physical education is a great way to help improve mental health and stress-free.

In addition to physical activities, the modern world requires students to learn new skills that are constantly changing. But, physical education provides a variety of different opportunities for you to hone any skill you want. The Basics of Bodyweight Training

Your bodyweight is the weight that you are carrying in your body at any given point. To accomplish basic everyday living tasks, you will need to move around. Instead of lifting weights or doing crunches, try using your entire bodyweight to carry out specific activities.

All you have to do is sit down and lift a weight that is heavier than your shoulders! You can do this anywhere from five seconds to 40 minutes per day, depending upon you. Use your entire body to achieve all of these things and you'll be in great shape for years to come. Try jumping rope, skipping rope, or riding a bike and using your entire body to achieve progress. This is a fun way to incorporate exercise into your daily life and build better muscle strength.

Make Meals Around the House

If you haven't guessed yet, this one is a HUGE benefit to having regular meals at the office. Food is great, but not the worst. Having food that doesn't contain meat, sugar, or fat is a very important step to reaching any type of physical wellness. You'll have far less cravings once you realize that you can eat whatever food item makes you feel that hungry. It isn't that healthy foods are boring--they are delicious too! Have a nice salad over lunch in place of processed foods or unhealthy stuff. Pick out a homemade recipe with ingredients such as herbs, spices, fruits, and vegetables. Make your meal by putting together this simple meal: a salad, a protein bar, some veggies, some fruit, and maybe some raisins, nuts, or seeds. Just stick with this meal every single day for a month and you'll be seeing results within a mere month. Start small and work up from there! Don't worry, this is pretty simple, and there are lots of websites out there that have helpful recipes that you can easily make with just a couple ingredients. You could make pancakes! It wouldn't even be much of a challenge. You could make pasta! Get creative! Create a list of foods you love and add your favorite meats/fruits to the mix. Add some peanut butter, almond milk, olive oil, eggs, etc. Put it all together and you'll likely make enough of a tasty dinner for four people. You may even like to serve this dish to your coworkers. Make sure that everything in your fridge has either protein powder, granola, or popcorn and that your pantry is stocked with enough cheese powder to last a long day. I bet you all would love this meal. This meal will change the way you think about food forever and you'll surely start eating healthier.
